The Vice President should resign “for reasons of health”. Not his, ours.
It is disturbing that there are no demonstrators parked out side the gates of the Vice President’s disclosed location, his residence on the grounds of the National Observatory in Northwest Washington, to protest his advocacy of the use of torture by the CIA.
While President Bush with a grimace and a shout claims that he rejects the use of torture, he has not rejected his Vice President’s strenuous lobbying to exempt CIA interrogators from the McCain Amendment to the 2006 Defense Appropriations Act, an amendment that would force all US agencies to comply with the Geneva Conventions against the use of torture. Indeed, there is talk that the White House might veto any bill containing the McCain Amendment...
